Luciana Paoluzzi was born in Rome and was raised in Rome by her parents. Her father was Manlio Paoluzzi who was an Italian military officer. Maria Rota Paoluzzi was one of Benito Mussolini's mistresses. There's no record of her siblings. She was in a local high school and upon matriculating in 1955 she studied navy engineering at the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the only woman in her class. After two years of study, she started her modeling career. Soon after, she got a chance to be a part of Three Coins in the Fountain while in Rome visiting the family friend of her father. Brett Halsey - an actor was her first husband. The couple made Return to the Peyton Palace following their wedding in 1960. Luciana received custody of the children following divorce. They had a baby boy known as Charles that was born on June of 1961. Luciana was in a affair with Tony Anthony between 1962 between 1962 and the year 1970. He was an actor and producer who was influenced by her character to write and direct The Spaghetti Western hybrid based on her character in the film as Green Slime.
